Each year, the NBA identifies officiating points of emphasis for the upcoming season and shares them with teams, media and fans prior to tip-off of the first regular-season games. This season’s points of emphasis include: illegal screens, traveling and verticality. Continued areas of focus will be push plays, contact on jump shots, flagrant fouls – unnecessary and/or excessive, respect for the game and delay of game.
