QUESTION: I’m curious about the Jason Kidd ejection. Why was Kidd ejected from tonight’s game despite receiving just one technical foul?
VAN DUYNE: Coach Kidd came on the floor and got in the face of the official shouting multiple personal profanities and would not go back to the sideline. So, he was just ejected on one technical for that.
QUESTION: I saw you and Kidd have a conversation in the middle of a timeout in the third quarter. What message was he trying to get across and what was that interaction like?
VAN DUYNE: He was just asking about a rule interpretation on a coach’s challenge.
QUESTION: Why did Cooper Flagg receive a technical foul?
VAN DUYNE: He addressed the official disrespectfully with profanity and was assessed a respect for the game technical foul.
QUESTION: Why wasn’t a foul called on (Desmond) Bane that preceded Flagg’s technical?
VAN DUYNE: During live play the officials did not see a foul and thought he might have hit the ball.
QUESTION: What did Naji Marshall do or say at the end of the first half that led to his first technical foul?
VAN DUYNE: It was continuous complaining involving profanity and it was about a no-call that occurred at 40 seconds of the second quarter.
QUESTION: What did Marshall say to warrant his second technical and subsequent ejection?
VAN DUYNE: It was continued profanity directed at the official from the bench.
