POOL REPORT ON THE ALTERCATION BETWEEN MARVIN WILLIAMS AND JAMES ENNIS IN TODAY’S BUCKS/MAGIC GAME:

INTERVIEW CONDUCTED BY JOSH ROBBINS (THE ATHLETIC) WITH CREW CHIEF MARC DAVIS FOLLOWING TODAY’S MILWAUKEE BUCKS VS. ORLANDO MAGIC GAME

August 22, 2020

QUESTION: WOULD YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT MERITED EJECTIONS FOR MARVIN WILLIAMS AND JAMES ENNIS?

DAVIS: “During the rebounding action, Marvin Williams and James Ennis were initially assessed double fouls for their live-ball contact with one another. Upon review from instant replay, it was determined that fighting fouls would be assessed. As per NBA rules, fighting fouls are technical fouls that carry an automatic ejection.”

QUESTION: WAS THERE A SPECIFIC PHYSICAL ACTION THAT DEFINED THAT AS A FIGHT AS OPPOSED TO SAY MERELY A SHOVING MATCH?

DAVIS: “I think the fact that it did not immediately dissolve without the aid of game officials, coaches and players adds to that dynamic.”
