Pool Report on the Final Seconds of Regulation of Tonight’s Dallas Mavericks at Los Angeles Lakers Game

The Pool Report interview was conducted by Dan Woike (L.A. Times) with Crew Chief Josh Tiven following tonight’s Mavericks at Lakers Game.

QUESTION:  Why did Russell Westbrook shoot two free throws with 11.8 seconds remaining and not Dennis Schroder?

TIVEN: Because Bullock fouled Westbrook not Schroder and that was confirmed at replay.

QUESTION: Originally it was determined on the floor that it was Schroder and that was what was overturned?

TIVEN:  That is correct.

QUESTION: Why was there no call on Troy Brown Jr.’s 3-point attempt at the end of regulation?

TIVEN: Because Hardaway Jr. gets a piece of the ball on the closeout and then does make some high five contact, which is legal and that play was correctly no called.
