Pool Report on the Flagrant Foul Penalty 2 called on Jordan Clarkson in the Fourth Quarter of the Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz Game

The Pool Report interview was conducted by Sarah Todd (Deseret News) with Crew Chief Marc Davis following tonight’s Warriors at Jazz Game.

QUESTION:  What was the reason/reasons Clarkson was assessed a Flagrant 2?

DAVIS: Replay determined that Clarkson’s contact above the shoulder was deemed both unnecessary and excessive as it met the standard of a flagrant penalty 2.  It included wind up, impact and follow through to the head of Kuminga.

QUESTION: After reviewing the play drive by Clarkson, should Kuminga have been issued a personal foul?

DAVIS: Post game video confirms the on-court decision that Clarkson initiated the contact to the legal defender Kuminga and Kuminga does not contact Clarkson on his shot attempt.

QUESTION: Was there anything about Clarkson squaring up after the whistle that had to do with issuing the Flagrant 2?

Davis:  No.
