QUESTION: Why did Trae Young receive his first technical foul?

 

WILLIAMS: “Trae Young received his first unsportsmanlike technical foul for throwing the ball at a game official.”

 

QUESTION: Why did Trae Young receive his second technical foul?

 

WILLIAMS: “He received his second unsportsmanlike technical foul for kicking the ball away and making a mockery of the game as we were attempting to shoot the free throw for the first technical foul and by rule when the player receives two unsportsmanlike fouls he’s ejected from the game.”

 

QUESTION: Did officials account for the push from Paolo Banchero to Trae Young into the stanchion?

 

WILLIAMS: “We looked at this play in our postgame review and it’s actually (Anthony) Black who is involved with the play. Following the legal block by Black on the drive, he and Young get tangled up and there’s incidental contact. We don’t believe that rises to the level of something illegal based on all the angles we were able to see.”
