NBA Crew Chief Tony Brothers met with pool reporter Phil Leclare (Associated Press) after the game between the Knicks and Celtics in Boston tonight. Here is the transcript of that interview regarding the technical fouls assessed to Carmelo Anthony (NY):

Question 1: What compelled you to issue the first technical and then the second? Was it bad language?

Brothers: Re first technical: “Bad language.”; Re second technical: “Bad language.”

Question 2: What was the reasoning for the foul on the loose ball situation…two guys going for it?

Brothers: “He dove on top of him.  You can‘t dive on top of a player to go after a ball.  That’s a foul.”

Question 3: Do you have a history with Carmelo Anthony?

Brothers: “No.”
