Postgame – Miami at Cleveland – November 28, 2017

NBA Crew Chief Kane Fitzgerald met with pool reporter Dave McMenamin of ESPN after the game between the Heat and Cavaliers in Cleveland tonight. Here is the transcript of that interview:

Question 1: Why did you throw [LeBron James] out?

Fitzgerald: “It was a culmination of a couple different acts. Immediately after the no-call, he turned and threw an air punch directly at me and then he aggressively charged at me and then he used vulgarity in my ear a few times.”

Question 2:  Did you consider only assessing one technical foul?

 Fitzgerald: “I actually only did assess one technical foul. He was ejected on one technical.”

Question 3:  Was there anything prior to the communication in the 3rd quarter that fed into the ejection?

 Fitzgerald: “No, nothing at all. Nothing that I’m aware of.”
